Hey guys, this blog entry will be about luck.
I think we all know of that person who belives that when others have something good happen to them, it was more about luck than anything else.
Let me explain…
Ya see, for this negative person (lets call this person NN for Negative Nancy or Negative Ned) everything is random and out of our control.
You can point to a self made millionaire, and NN will point out some of the lucky breaks they got on their journey to becoming wealthy.
You point to a pro athlete, NN will point to how they won the genetic lottery to be able to have such an athletic build.
You point to someone who got a promotion at work and NN will say that they got lucky to be friends with the manager.
You see what I mean? We all know a person like this. (if you don’t than you are probably this person, lol)
The problem is NN has a broke persons mindset.
This is how broke people stay broke!
It has little to do with the actual money in their bank account, but how broke they are in attitude and spirit.
The bank account is just a reflection of their thinking.
They think that everything is out of their control, and they are a victim to whatever the world brings them.
What NN and other people with a broke mindset does not understand that in each of the examples above, there was a LOT of handwork and sacrifice to even get the person to have a CHANCE to be “lucky”
The self made millionaire?
Sure he got a few breaks, but what people like NN didn’t see if the late nights the self made man put in to learn a new way to earn income.
OR the working as a bartender, just to get a chance to network with the people who would later help him on his journey.
The sacrificing time with family in order to get them ahead.
The pro athlete?
NN didn’t see the hours upon hours of practice to hone his craft.
The grueling and painful days of non stop repetition in the arena and in the weight room.
The ultra strict diet to help make sure the athlete is at his best at all times.
The promoted co-worker?
NN didn’t see the classes they went to in order to further their career.
The books they read at lunch while people like NN went to lunch to complain about work!
The extra hours the person would stay to make sure that the company hit its goals while NN would think of ways to clock out early.
This is how success comes into your life.
From having vision and having the courage to execute on that vision.
Sure luck may be in the mix somewhere, but here’s the thing about luck.
Luck is nothing more than when preparation meets opportunity.
Successful people make their own luck in very ordinary ways.
Broke people also make their own luck…its just usually bad luck.
Think back on your life and see what type of luck you are bringing to yourself, and if you have a broke persons mindset, its time to change that.
