I’m sure you already know…
but the great Kobe Bean Bryant died yesterday along with 8 other people in a tragic helicopter crash
Knowing that one of the greatest people in the game of basketball died was hard to take…
but to find out his daughter and other families (as well as other children) died as well
Man…
That was truly a punch to the gut!
There are so many people who will talk about his accomplishments and accolades
Or how he gave his all in all of the things he did
(including creating films after he retired from the NBA)
And I agree that Those things should be talked about and celebrated
But!
what I will remember is that he confirmed what I already knew and what I teach.
He has proven that if you apply the same fierce competitive mindset…
the never say die attitude…
the “dedicate my life to THIS” attitude he embodied….
Then you can kick ass at no matter what you do!
Kobe wasn’t the biggest, the strongest, or even the most athletic player
(Dont get me wrong, he was very athletic in his prime, but that’s not where his greatness comes from)
It was the fact he created the NBA career he did by thinking BIG
Modeling his success after Michael Jordan and trying to be better than Jordan!
Then by putting in daily work to achieve his big dreams and back up his big talk.
After giving ALL he had so he could walk away from the NBA with no regrets…
He then took that same proven process with him into retirement.
Taking his victories on the court that he earned with a legendary work ethic
and applied it to his post NBA career got him an Oscar!
This is the basis of what I teach!
Dream big, work towards it everyday, celebrate the wins and use any success as the basis of the confidence needed to move forward.

Remove all grudges with friends and family today
