Fear of Sales??

No photo description available.

So, I’m a lil embarrassed to admit this, but up until recently, I was the type of person who tried to do everything on the cheap or for free.

This mindset caused more issues than I would care to admit.

Here’s the thing tho, someone was giving out advice basically saying more things people offered should be free.

On the surface, that sounds good right?

Especially to a consumer-minded person.

In my naive days, I would have also agreed, but now I know better.

So, I disagreed with the person, and basically said:

people don’t value free, no matter how good the product or service is.

Hell, People rarely value cheap!

Think of shoes.

Many are made in the same factory with the same materials, with the only thing different being the brand…guess which one people value more?

The reply to what I said is what I wanted to focus on here:

And it reads:

I understand the theory behind ‘people don’t value free’ but I think it’s a misunderstood cliché. Many people value being powerfully served and will become your most loyal clients or your most ardent promoters. As for your time being too valuable to give away, that’s up to you. I make a distinction between a ‘give and take’ world and a ‘give and get back’ world. I’d rather live in the second one.

I replied and let that person know if all the free shit I do have (emails I send out, YouTube vids, This Facebook group, the live streams where I give away all sorts of lessons, etc.)

But, after I replied, I realized something…and it’s a big something.

It’s not about being a cheap-ass…

All the talk about “give and take” and “help everyone with free” is a smoke screen.

This person and many people like this person are AFRAID to sell!!

I know this because I too used to be the same!

(I still cringe thinking about my past behavior when it came to selling property)

The issue here is that when you treat something valuable like junk, others will also treat it like junk!

(think about the free advice you given that your friends promptly ignored, but got that same advice from a therapist, now they act on said advice)

For me, my actions and the way I used to describe property would send that message to the prospect.

And guess what happens when the prospect feels that “negative” energy?

They don’t buy!

I would hear

“let me think about it”

or

“ill get back to you later”

But, in reality, it’s a no-go for them.

Another prospect gone, and aint coming back!

Let’s do a thought experiment here…if I offered you a plot of land for free, would you take it?

You would probably ask this question first

“Whats wrong with it??”

See that?? This is the issue that being afraid to sell causes!

You plant doubt and uncertainty in the mind of a buyer, which causes them not to buy

And it multiplies that fear of selling (nobody likes to get rejected)

So, even if I had good intentions with giving away a land, it still would be a disaster.

From my experience, nobody seems to value things they don’t pay for.

The good news is, you can reverse this mindset, and see the positives of selling.

The biggest benefit in my opinion is that once someone pays for something (with cash or hard work) not only do they value it more, they thank you for the experience!

So, if you have a fear of selling, don’t worry I got you covered
