A Powerful Technique to Go “Back to the Future”

In order to help ourselves get to a new level of success; we have to visualize it.

I think you already know that in theory

but It can be tough to actually do that in practice when you don’t know what it will take to get there.

So, here’s a tip I got from Brian Tracy, (a motivational public speaker and self-development author of over seventy books!)

The funny thing is, he learned this from another guy from England named Peter Morgan.

From Peter Morgan, to Brian Tracy, to me, to you!

Anyway, his powerful technique is pretty simple.

All you have to do is imagine that you reach your goal (of quitting your job or some financial goal or whatever)

But, don’t picture this in the future, really take time to imagine what it would be like if this was true RIGHT NOW.

And as you are visualizing on your success, think about WHY you are the success you are today.

This is called “Back to the Future thinking”

For example: If my goal is to be a millionaire, then I would imagine that I’m a millionaire today…and then start to think about how I got to my millionaire status.

Clear? Good.

In that “Back to the Future thinking” I would think to myself:

“Self, It feels good to me a millionaire…and what a crazy ride its been to get here!

I’ve done X, Y and Z …so many things that helped me get to where I am today”

You can also imagine you telling someone the story of how you got to your success.

Now, the goal isnt to brag and boast, but to think of the actual steps that will take you from where you are now to where you want to be.

The goal is to think of 20 of those things…steps, actions, habits, whatever it is that got me to this current success level.

Basically, act if you already have what you are gunning for, and you are reverse engineering how you got to that point.

What new decisions did you make to become that millionaire business owner who told his old boss to “kick rocks”?

How did you get to the point where you were able to quit with confidence?

What skills will you need?

What mentors or coaches will help you get there?

Who do you need to spend more time with, and who should you spend less time with?

You see what I’m sayin’?

Do this right, and you’re going to feel different inside…a real shift will begin to take place.

That’s called clarity and a spark of confidence!

So, start today.

Pick a goal.

Imagine it as if you already accomplished that goal

Then use “Back to the Future thinking” to reverse engineer that result.

Then start implementing that plan TODAY!
