Beware of the seeds of self doubt

Wait, what? Did I just do it again??

This is the thought that came to mind one day as I was driving my son to basketball camp a few years back.
As a side note, I was pretty pumped that he was hooping! Takes after his old man. *smug smile*
Anyway, as you may know, I coach basketball with my own club basketball program.
Like every other program, we have to rent gym time from local schools for practice time.
Being the big baller that I am, my goal is to buy my own gym so I our kids will always have a time and place to play hoops, workout, and be mentored by our coaches.
So, as I was driving that day, the idea of buying the gym came to mind.
Then out of nowhere, some random thought of:
Yeah…I think I need to have a certain number of parking spots by law if I’m gonna open a gym…
With that thought, some self doubt came in, and I was discouraged since I was thinking about the paper work and the rules of owning a building.
These are things i havent started to learn about, yet, I’m already feeling defeated!
This makes no sense!
I don’t even know if there’s a law stating you need a certain amount of parking, but here I am, acting like a wimp!
I don’t even have a location for a gym, so why am I worried about parking spots???
I effectively planted a seed of doubt…but it came from a lie I told myself.
I know you do this too, it’s very common!
Is often why we never start something important!
The key is to recognize it when it happens. You will know when you get a “sinking” feeling in your gut as you think about the imaginary problem…
you start to worry about something before you even know if its a real concern!
Make sure you notice these feelings, then tell yourself:
I have nothing to worry about, I’ll cross that bridge when I get there
Also:
When I get to that point, I will be in a better spot than I am in now, so I cant wait to be in a position that I need to solve such baller problems!
You should be able to take control of your run-away mind with that, and keep your self moving toward your goals.
Anyway, I hope that helps you as you go forward.
