Theres this self titled “fat chick” at my office…
…while I can see why she would call her self “fat” shes not the biggest person in the world.
She seems like the type that was always a little heavier…
…but I guess after having her first kid she decided she would actually try to lose some weight.
As an athlete, I always encourage folks when they tell me about their fitness goals, and she was no exception
The thing is, she didnt tell me before she began her journey (like most others) but a little after she started.
She didnt even say “hey, im gonna start working out” she just casually mentioned how sore she was from starting the Shawn T workout series
needless to say, I was impressed.
I wasn’t able to notice any difference in her physique at the time…
so, I wondered if she would stick with it.
I told her to take some before and after photos, since sometimes progress is harder to see day to day…
Also using your weight as your guide can be misleading.
I also told her to give me some updates as she gets thru the program, since its only 60 days long.
I expected her to give up like everyone else, but to my surprise, she gave me updates!
She told me how close she was close to quitting the program because she didnt think she was making any progress.
To make it worse, her fiance was not really encouraging her.
…but… she didnt quit!
She was real proud of her progress, and while she wasnt ready to compete in a body building contest, she was pleased that her energy level was higher.
Thats important because she is now able to keep up with her 2 year old son.
In addition to that, she was especially proud of the fact that she was able to do something that she didnt think she could…a push up!
It was great news, and even though I had no involvement, it made me feel good…like I was also accomplishing goals!
I can also sense a change in her confidence and attitude.
Her resilience has paid off, and now she has a habit of working out.
Now, she is looking to top her personal best in some exercises, and will eventually try a different workout routine.
Hell, she may even try weight training!
Why am I telling you this?
Because, its inspiring! And I want to “feel” your success too!
Also, I need you to remember,…
Shit aint always easy, and you will want to quit (often)
But as long as you do a little bit each day, it will add up!
You dont need big, drastic changes all the time!
Sometimes a little bit done everyday is a lot more powerful!
I learned this in the book “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy
The book helped me develop some habits that keeps me doing things I gotta do every day to reach my goals.
No matter what, give me updates on your journey to success!
